Bulgaria’s Olympic medalists Boryana Kaleyn and Krasimir Dunev have been announced as official faces of the artistic and rhythmic gymnastics competitions at the Down Syndrome World Championships Bulgaria 2026, which will take place in Sofia from June 13 to 19.
The Championships, organized by the Adapted Physical Activity Federation – Bulgaria, will bring together athletes from around the world and feature a program including five sports disciplines.
“This event goes beyond sports competition – it is a celebration of the will and perseverance of these incredible athletes,” said the President of the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation, Krasimir Dunev.
“We are proud that Bulgaria is hosting this event and has the opportunity to provide a stage where they can showcase their talent and dedication. I believe their efforts and stories will inspire audiences and encourage young people to follow their dreams with confidence and courage,” he added.

The event will gather elite athletes, coaches, and delegations from numerous countries, turning Sofia into a hub of international adapted sport.
Championship Ambassadors
Among the official ambassadors of the Championships are some of Bulgaria’s most celebrated athletes, including Grigor Dimitrov and Karlos Nasar, who support the cause of inclusion through sport with their achievements and personal example.
