Working Meeting in Preparation for the Down Syndrome World Championships Bulgaria 2026
As part of the active preparations for the Down Syndrome World Championships, which will take place in Bulgaria from June 13 to 19, 2026, a working meeting of key importance for the organisation of the championship was held.
The meeting was attended by Slav Petkov, President of the Adapted Physical Activity Federation – Bulgaria; Neviana Vladinova, Vice President of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and a long-time national athlete and leader with international experience; and Sesil Karatancheva, former professional tennis player who reached the highest levels of world tennis and is actively involved in the development of sport.
The discussions focused on key organisational, logistical, and communication aspects of the championship, which will bring elite athletes from around the world to Bulgaria. The event is among the most significant international forums in the adapted sports calendar and requires precise coordination, sustainable partnerships, and a long-term vision.
Preparations continue with clearly defined goals and consistent steps towards delivering a world-class championship that meets the highest international standards and leaves a lasting impact on the development of inclusive sport in Bulgaria.
