On Sunday, June 14, Sofia will officially launch the BAUHAUS Down Syndrome World Championships Bulgaria 2026 – the World Championships for Athletes with Down Syndrome.
The opening day programme includes:
- 7:00 PM – Gathering of the national teams at St. Nedelya Square;
- 19:00–20:00 – Ceremonial parade to the National Palace of Culture (NDK);
- 20:00 – Official Opening Ceremony and concert programme in front of the National Palace of Culture (NDK).
Following the Official Opening Ceremony, the competitions will take place from June 15 to 17, bringing together athletes from different countries who will compete in the disciplines included in the championship programme.
The organisers invite the residents and visitors of Sofia to join the celebration and support the participants in this major international sporting event dedicated to sport, inclusion, and equal opportunities.
