Today, an official press conference organized by the Federation for Adapted Physical Activity Bulgaria was held at the press club of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), dedicated to the upcoming BAUHAUS World Championships for Athletes with Down Syndrome – Bulgaria 2026, which will take place from 13 to 19 June 2026.

During the event, the Bulgarian national team was officially introduced to the media. The athletes will compete in athletics, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, and table tennis.

The official championship medals were also unveiled, along with the event mascot, Bulgaroznayko, who will welcome participants and guests throughout the championships in Sofia.

The press conference marked another important milestone in the preparations for the largest international sporting event for athletes with Down syndrome ever hosted in Bulgaria. In just a few days, Sofia will welcome hundreds of athletes, coaches, and official delegations from dozens of countries, creating a celebration of sporting excellence, friendship, and international cooperation.

The organizers expressed their confidence that the championships will leave lasting memories for all participants and guests while delivering a strong message of equal opportunities, dignity, inclusion, and the power of sport to bring people together.
